I see October finally got my memo about cooling off. We’re all welcome. I love how yesterday it was 80* and now it’s 54*. Texas badger don’t care. I think the cold weather blew something in or I’m still dealing with the 45 years of second hand smoke I breathed in our hotel room, because my nose won’t stop running. I feel fine, other than the normal amount of tired, which coffee is helping me fix. Organic half and half… Read more »

Hello. This Monday seems particularly dull and grim. Really the only exciting part is that temperatures are supposed to cool down some. I’ll believe that when it happens. My Mama told me to never trust a weather app. Just kidding. But today simply pales in comparison to the weekend. Friday night the Hubbit and I went to his cousin’s wedding. It was really pretty and sweet and very nice to see his family. Unfortunately waking up at 5 and being… Read more »

That’s right, y’all! It’s Friday Eve! This is how we’ve started referring to Thursdays around the office. It adds an element of excitement to another humdrum day. Plus it reminds me of Christmas. Bonus. I cannot. wait. for this weekend. Tomorrow one of The Hubbit’s cousins is getting married. It’ll be good to see his family and celebrate/cry at a new marriage. Plus I get to leave work early so I have time to get ready. Bonus. If only I knew what… Read more »

Hello, friends! I had a glorious weekend. The writing conference was a blast, the weather was gorgeous, my husband was cute, and I ate a lot of cheese. But do you know what’s been my favorite part? I bought a pumpkin. I told you I would. And it inspired me. I made something. Something other than this fabulous low carb lasagna. Other than progress on my book. Other than a fool of myself when I literally skipped to the pumpkin… Read more »

You guys! You guys! Guess what? IT’S OCTOBER!! Everything in life is officially wonderful! We are in for a three-month period of joy! Sorry, calming down. I actually slept in this morning because I’m not feeling too well, so due to limited time before I must get mineself to work, I am just going to list my feelings. Because It’s October… We can start dressing for fall. The Texas temperatures will eventually meet us there. ::shakes fist:: I’m going to… Read more »

1) Gooooood mornin’! (Sung like in Singin’ in the Rain) 2) It’s the first day of Autumn! It’s the first day of Autumn! Look at the effing Google Doodle. 3) I wrote a poem! Check it here. 4) It’s a cavalier 66 degrees and I’m loving it. 5) I have the following thing stuck in my head on a loop. 5,000,000 bonus points if you know what it’s from/can hear what I’m hearing right now: Agatha, This is Magnus. Give my… Read more »

I’m baaaaaack! Though I can’t claim to be back in the swing of things, as it were. I am somewhere still floating around in the universe. Only the fact that I have so much to do at work is driving me onward with any purpose. I left a frustrating and horrific day at work on Friday (re: so much to do) at 5, and drove to Waco. 290 was awful and I had to say many, many prayers. Ultimately I… Read more »

I hate Tuesdays, I hate mornings, I hate work days. I am grumpy today. Mostly because I went to bed a little too late, and then my lovely husband punched or elbowed me in the face early this morning. Right in the mouth. That really hurt, and it’s still hurting, Charlie. One of my favorite parts of marriage is sharing my bed with my best friend and having the most perfect lil’ snuggle buddy. But NOT when that lil’ snuggle… Read more »

So all the little kiddies went back to school yesterday. And I have to say, I’m jealous. Back to school, despite groans about homework and seriously hateful Chemistry teachers, kicks off my favorite time of year. It’s the beginning of fall, even though we’re still courting 100* weather in the Lone Star State. (Side note: Starbucks released the PSL early this year (yesterday) and I cannot drink one until there’s a hint of crispness in the air. It’s just wrong.)… Read more »
